ooh barely made it today. 3542 words in total.
I’ll need to plan tomorrow. Maybe in the morning or summat. And then write when we’re back in kl.
Day 1, 6 - 7.20: 1484
Travelling by plane has its ups and downs - the down is that you’re crammed like a sardine in a generously filled tin, the up is the takeoff and the landing and the going to a new country (or perhaps going home) bit.
Thing is, even this flight is pushing my usual cheerfulness at being able to fly. It’s been over eighteen hours, and while I did manage sleep, sleeping on a plane is not a comfortable affair in economy seats. Especially with annoying seatmates. (Which is why I spring for the window seats, rather than aisle.)
I have landed, though, which is a relief. Once my phone sorts itself out I send the requisite messages; to my parents, telling them I’m safe - and to the person who’s meeting me, just in case she’s forgotten I’m arriving today. She shouldn’t have. I’ve bugged her enough about it.
Immigration goes on without a hitch - I suppose I’m not threatening enough for Canadians - and I collect my baggage. Just the one large bag, and my carry-on, all neatly arranged on the weird trolley. I wipe my sweat on my jeans and head on to arrivals.
It doesn’t take long to catch sight of her, to meet eyes I’ve only ever seen via a computer screen.
It’s like coming home.
